What is skt 1366?

Socket 1366, also known as LGA 1366, is a CPU socket designed for Intel's high-end desktop and server processors. It was introduced in 2008 and was the successor to Socket 775.

Socket 1366 supported Intel Core i7 and Xeon processors, which were based on the Nehalem microarchitecture. These processors featured up to six cores and supported technologies like Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading for improved performance.

Socket 1366 motherboards typically had a triple-channel memory controller, allowing for increased memory bandwidth compared to dual-channel setups. They also supported multiple PCI Express lanes for enhanced graphics performance and connectivity options.

Socket 1366 was eventually replaced by Socket 2011 in 2011, which offered improved performance and features. However, Socket 1366 systems can still provide decent performance for older applications and tasks.
